We joined the Property/OLX team, with the challenge of launching the CRM in LATAM. In November, we migrated from OLX to Panamera.

In march, we started migrating accounts from Ecuador and Peru. Now, we are focusing on launching in Colombia.

Why?

It was something we had to do. The CRM is still evolving and taking shape, but no one has ever performed a thorough analysis about the usability of the system or the impact it may cause when launching a new feature.

What

for?

Most importantly, research allow us to identify the problems and challenges related to design: Validate (or not) our ideas, find patterns and common points between the different groups of users; this will lead us to understand their necessities, goals, and mind models. It also help us to design our business and product strategy, taking into account what the customer needs.

How?

It was hell of a challenge. The ‘’new normal’’ forced us to reinvent ourselves and adapt new methodologies that blend into this new context. The interviews with the clients from different countries took place via Zoom. We worked together with Mariela, Sandy and Charly, who coordinated the schedule for the interviews.

Who the were users?

The most difficult users. With that in mind, we tried to identify and interview the users that had had negative experiences with the system, not only because they faced technical limitations and were not able to understand the CRM, but also because they encountered problems when using the system.

Scenario

Today, we are migrating old OLX users to the CRM. This process presented some technical difficulties that were solved during the research.

Interviews

During the last two months, we performed a total of 20 interviews with users from Peru and Ecuador. Each interview lasted for about 90 minutes. The interviews were divided into two different blocks, one being ‘’Commercial’’ and the other one ‘’Administrative’’.

Users

As we mentioned before, we wanted to interview the users that had had problems with the use of the CRM or any specific function such us uploading ads.

Insights

The most interesting part of this research is that we obtained the most varied insight, coming from the use of the CRM and also from what our brand (Properati) means to them.

"I use Urbania and I want to use OLX. I spoke to Santiago and they solve all the problems I had. After that, I was migrated to Properati and they took everything away from me. OLX Is no longer a thing, I don’t get any more leads from OLX. The CRM made my work harder. My father upload the ads."

At the moment, I am posting ads in Plusvalia, Vive 1 and Properati. I thought I was going to receive more ads from Properati… But I didn’t. I have some other problems too, since I have to enter the portal to see if there are messages there, because I don’t receive messages in the same way I do on other portals.
